How to Play Typing Speed

Here's how to play this casual game:

  1. 1Papa's games use the mouse exclusively. Click stations to walk to them, click ingredients to add them, drag to assemble orders.
  2. 2Read each customer's order ticket carefully — the order is at the top, the cooking instructions are below.
  3. 3Don't burn the food. The grill / oven / fryer has a cooking meter — pull the food off at the right moment for a 'perfect' rating.
  4. 4Multitask. While one dish is cooking, switch stations and start the next order. Idle seconds = lost tips.
  5. 5Buy station upgrades as soon as you can afford them — better equipment makes the timing windows more forgiving.

Tips and Secrets

  • Multitask. While one customer's order is cooking, take the next customer's order.
  • Buy the door chime upgrade first — it gives you extra seconds before a customer gets impatient.
  • Read the order ticket before you start cooking. Building the wrong sandwich wastes more time than burning the right one.
  • Station upgrades > decoration upgrades. Decorations boost tips, but station upgrades make the timing windows more forgiving — and a perfect cook is worth more than a tip bonus.
  • Don't panic-rush. Burnt food scores zero; a slightly-slow-but-perfect dish scores well.
  • Close out each in-game day before quitting. Many Papa's games save at day boundaries — quitting mid-day loses progress.
